Podcast: How to Start a Social Enterprise Side Hustle, With Sue Norton
November 15, 2016

“Own your inner badass.”

When Sue Norton launched her custom luxury leather clothing company, Pink Skeleton, her approach was simple: one size does not fit all.

“We’re not all a size six, so when you have something custom made for you, it’s empowering. I don’t size my designs. It’s not about that. It’s about a perfect fit.”

Her first customer, guitarist Billy Morrison, wears his custom jacket on stage when he performs with rock legend, Billy Idol.

“From start to finish, the process was exceptional. Sue paid attention to detail, listening to my obscenely long list of requirements. The day I received the jacket, I ordered custom stage pants. Pink Skeleton is the only way forward for me with custom-made clothing,” Billy says.

Although leather is a far cry from Alcea, her successful tech company, Sue says both are about living your passion.

“I’ve always combined a rock n roll attitude with business. I love being my own boss, being true to myself.”
